Why We Do What We Do
The young boy was in 2nd grade, his first year in Catholic school. At the time he wasn't yet Catholic. His religion teacher was leading her students in a "heartroom" prayer, a chance to talk "heart to heart" with Jesus. (cor ad cor loquitur) The teacher noticed that the little boy had a few tears flowing down his cheeks. After the prayer, she asked him, "What was your prayer time like?" He responded, "It was so beautiful. I never knew how much I was loved."
Why do we do what we do here at St. Teresa School and any number of Catholic Schools? We want to bring our students to Jesus. This is the final end. The great joy of our hearts is when our students encounter Jesus, and it makes a difference in their lives.
One person's encounter doesn't end there. As each one of our students encounters Jesus, He changes their lives, which helps to transform the lives of those around them, and the chain of graces continues.
Let us pray in a particular way for our students who recently received the Sacrament of Confirmation last weekend, and for our students preparing to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time this coming weekend. May their hearts be open to encounter the Lord in a powerful and life-changing way.

Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest
Congratulations to Peter Casady, the state champion of the 12-year-old category of the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest. The contest was held on April 6 in Grand Island. 74 contestants participated, boys and girls from ages 9-14. Peter made 22 of 25 free throws!
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
All are invited to attend the retreat-like adult formation at St. Peter Parish for CGS, July 14-19, 2024. The course focuses on the most essential aspects of liturgy & scripture for young children & how adults can learn to listen to God with them. Suited for those looking to invest in personal formation & those with a heart for working with the young. If interested in more info, please contact Beth Ruhl at mruhl87@gmail.com. For any who choose to volunteer with the program at St. Teresa for the 2024-2025 school year, tuition & book fees will be reimbursed.
Nebraska Catholic Giving Day 2024
This May 1st, the 3 Catholic Dioceses of Nebraska are getting together for a Nebraska Catholic Giving Day. From now until May 8th, you can donate to this cause.

Check out Nebraska’s Summer Food Service Program. The program which provides free summer meals to kids and teens (ages 1 – 18) may be available in your area at select locations. The meals help ensure children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is out for the summer. There are numerous open summer meal sites throughout the state of Nebraska.

Service Hours due April 26
Service Hours are required for some students as part of their Theology grade and strongly encouraged for all students.
Please see HERE for specific guidelines for each class. If your student(s) needs a hard copy, they may ask for one from the front office.
CK Sisters Outdoor Spring Workday
Sat., May 4, 1:30-4:30 p.m. We will be planting our vegetable garden, cleaning up flower beds, mulching and cutting trees. Helpful items to bring include wheelbarrows, shovels, gloves, pruning/lopping shears, hoes, pickups and chainsaws. Children are also welcome! Mark your calendars now and contact Sister Mary Angela at sr.mary-angela@cdolinc.net if you would like to come and help. Please also print and complete a liability form (one per adult; children added to adult form.) Villa Regina Motherhouse, 4100 SW 56th St., about 2 miles west and south of Pioneers Park.
