A good while back we promoted going to the STARS Hockey game. There was a competition among area schools to see who would have the most students in attendance. WE WON! We had 35 people in attendance. We are the blessed recipients of a free skate. If you are a Stars fan you will know that the arena is currently shut down for the season, but not to worry, we are slated for the Fall when it is HOT out! The date we are scheduled for is Sunday, Sept. 21 from 3 to 4:30. There are 100 pairs of skates available for our use. Rental is included with the deal! If you happen to have skates, bring them, as I’m sure the size selection won’t match our clientele exactly. Concessions are not included...I advise you to eat before you come unless you want overpriced high fat nachos, but that is your call! Younger siblings, older siblings along with you parents are all welcome. You probably shouldn’t bring the neighbor’s kids, as I anticipate a crowd. Those 35 won it for us all!
Talking about a pleasant event for the future is so good for us during Lent. We delay gratification and learn to wait a bit for the good things to come. The good things to come will take on a whole new light when we come to the end of the journey. Let us run this race with the Lord, even up the hill of Calvary these next few days. The Glory to be revealed will be beyond our imagining, He promises! Skating can remind us of that in a very small way.
Blessed Holy Week and Easter to you all!
