How do you define a party? For me there are three requirements:
- People (at least three)
- Food (all the better if it is good)
- Joy (even better if dancing is involved)
- Competitive games (Optional)
We had a Party last night! Thank you to our families with roots from south of the border. When we brainstormed this, Amparo suggested that each family bring their favorite dish for sampling. It was not my intention for a feast to be thrown! That was a Feast for the Feast Day! I love to try new foods. I tried more new foods in that half hour than ever before, I think. And it was great food! Still even better than the food was the camaraderie! Amparo and company named the event "Santa Teresa: Uniendo culturas." (St. Teresa; uniting cultures). It was well named: I felt the unity, and I hope you did too. The dancers were a bonus; that fit perfectly. Thank you again to all our families with Hispanic roots for hosting the party. You hit the requisites for a party out of the park, every one of them!
Calling the Science Fair a competitive game might be a bit of a stretch, but it was good to mill around and see what the students had done. We are proud of them, and the work involved. Well done! (Thank you also for the teamwork among the teachers and parents in assisting students in the projects.)
It was also a “four priest party." We hosted a party worthy of bringing in people from a few parishes along with their pastors. Thank you, Lord, for blessing it.
