The Divine Indwelling
In our world today, there is an epidemic of loneliness. All of us experience loneliness at times; it is a normal part of life. But sometimes it can become particularly acute. One antidote to loneliness is to profess the truth that we actually are never alone!
Ever since our baptism, we have the Divine Indwelling of the Three Persons of the Trinity!
I have known it for a long time, but I can remember a moment when this reality hit home for me. It was during Covid--you remember, of course, how everything was "shut down" and "cancelled." As teachers, we spent our days trying to come up with lessons we could do through distance learning and maintain some kind of education during those troubled times. I found myself in the classroom one day--completely empty, except me. I had this overwhelming sadness that the children weren't there, and that was followed by a deep loneliness. The Holy Spirit struck at that moment. He spoke in my heart that I was not alone, and that He was always with me. I was drawn to adore Him within my soul.
The Divine Indwelling is just one of the many beautiful effects of baptism! This year we have started to celebrate our students' baptisms more intentionally. Many teachers already celebrated the baptisms of the students in their classrooms, but this year we're doing it as a whole school. Every third Friday of the month will be a "Baptism Mass." Those who were baptized during that month will sit in the front rows and renew their baptismal promises after the homily. Teachers and staff who were baptized that month are also invited to join the renewal.
St. Louis, King of France, whose feast day we celebrated yesterday, wrote a beautiful letter to his son, including this powerful quote, which I share as a prayer for you as well: "I give you every blessing that a loving father can give a son. May the three Persons of the Holy Trinity and all the saints protect you from every evil. And may the Lord give you the grace to do His will so that He may be served and honored through you, that in the next life we may together come to see Him, love Him and praise Him unceasingly. Amen."

Back to School Night
Our mission statement begins "St. Teresa School, in partnership with parents....." On Tuesday Sept 1 at 7 pm we have our annual Back to School Night, which is typically very well attended. Please plan to attend, as this is the primary time for our teachers to communicate essential information for this school year. On the horizon we also have the best school choice opportunity to date before us in the Tax Credit coming available in January. Tom Venzor will spend a few minutes to help us understand the process and the potential this new legislation holds for us. The potential is before us, but it won't happen without effort on the part of all of us. See you Tuesday. (Typically, children do not come to the meeting. We realize that it may be necessary for one parent to stay home with the children, if one parent from each family can come, that works. Off Site Reunification Location:
Redeemer Lutheran Church
on 33rd Street and just north of J
We hope to not need the reunification site but wanted to inform you of that site. Children will be walking the two to three blocks to that site, so they know where it is located. Students will not go in but just turn around and return. Faculty and staff have been in the reunification site.
St. Teresa T-Shirts
It is time for us to once again order t-shirts for the school year. These shirts are worn on field trip days and on other various days throughout the school year. The shirts for students and staff are generously provided by SFA. If a parent or other family member/friend would like to purchase a shirt, they are welcome to do so. Parents, you are invited to meet in the church every Friday at 3:00 and join St. Teresa’s Divine Mercy group to offer the Divine Mercy Chaplet for parish and personal intentions. It is completed in 10 minutes and won’t overlap with picking up your children.Come and rest a moment in God’s mercy!
